Canada’s Arctic Frontier: Polar Bear Experience

Arrive into Toronto, where our Tour Director will greet you once you’ve collected your luggage. You’ll then be transferred to your downtown hotel, where you can settle in and unwind after check-in.

Spend the day exploring Downtown Toronto, either on a guided tour with one of our experienced local experts or at your own pace aboard a hop-on hop-off bus, discovering the city’s key sights and vibrant neighbourhoods.

Transfer to Toronto Airport to board your flight to Winnipeg. On arrival, you will be met by our Tour Director and assisted with your transfer to the hotel, where you can check in and relax.

Overnight in Winnipeg

Check out of your hotel in Winnipeg and transfer to the airport or train station for your onward journey to Churchill.

On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your lodge for check-in. The remainder of the day is at leisure, giving you time to relax, settle in, and take in your first impressions of this unique northern destination.

Board the Arctic Crawler™, a custom-built tundra vehicle, and venture into the Churchill Wildlife Management Area. Travel along the Hudson Bay coastline to prime polar bear viewing areas, where these incredible animals gather as they await the winter ice to form. Known for their curious nature, polar bears are often seen up close, sometimes approaching the vehicles for a closer look.

Lunch, snacks, and beverages are included throughout the excursion.

Morning: Cultural & Heritage Tour – Churchill
Begin the day with an immersive exploration of Churchill and its surrounding landscapes. This guided cultural and heritage tour brings the town’s rich history to life, with visits to key landmarks such as Cape Merry, an important historic defence site, and the exterior of the Polar Bear Holding Facility, commonly known as the “Polar Bear Jail.”

You will also stop at the famous crash site of Miss Piggy, along with several other notable locations that offer insight into Churchill’s unique heritage and character.

Mid Afternoon: Dog Mushing Experience
In the afternoon, enjoy an authentic dog mushing adventure across the Churchill terrain. The experience includes an approximately 1–2 mile ride, either on a traditional sled (weather permitting) or a wheeled cart when there is no snow—both equally thrilling as the energetic dogs take the lead.

Following the ride, unwind inside a warm tent with freshly prepared bannock served with local berry jam, alongside coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. Learn about the training and care of the sled dogs while hearing engaging stories from experienced mushers.

Following the tour, return to the lodge and check out. You will then be transferred to the airport or train station for your journey to Winnipeg.

On arrival in Winnipeg, transfer to your hotel and check in for an overnight stay.

Check out from your hotel in Winnipeg and transfer to the airport for your onward flight to Toronto.

Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your downtown hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure—take the opportunity to relax or head out and explore the vibrant downtown area at your own pace.

After breakfast, and in line with your flight schedule, you will be transferred to Toronto Pearson International Airport for your onward flight back home.
