Travellers planning a Maldives escape next winter will have more flexibility, as Turkish Airlines is increasing its services between Istanbul (IST) and Malé (MLE) for the Winter 2026/27 schedule.
From 26 October 2026 to 27 March 2027, the airline will operate up to 12 weekly flights during November 2026 and February 2027, while 11 weekly services will operate throughout the remainder of the winter season. The expanded schedule includes additional TK740/TK741 services on selected days, offering increased capacity during periods of strong demand.
The enhanced schedule is particularly good news for UK travellers, with Turkish Airlines offering convenient connections from regional airports including Birmingham, Manchester, London Stansted and Edinburgh. The increased frequencies provide greater flexibility when planning holidays, particularly during the festive season and school holidays.
Travellers can also make the most of Turkish Airlines' Stopover in Istanbul programme, which gives passengers the opportunity to explore the city during a longer connection, with complimentary hotel accommodation available for qualifying itineraries – adding another memorable dimension to the journey.
The Maldives remains one of the world's most sought-after winter sun destinations, renowned for its luxury resorts, pristine beaches and year-round tropical climate. Increased airline capacity is expected to make itinerary planning easier, although demand for popular travel dates and premium accommodation is still likely to remain high.
