While traveling with a pet on a flight, here are some general do’s and don’ts you must follow in order to avoid unwanted hassles and prepare yourself better for the trip:
- Check with the airline’s policy since every airline have their own set of regulations pertaining to pet policy.
- Make sure to get your pet’s health certificate. This can be done through your regular pet vet.
- Bring enough food, water and treats that your furry friends love in order to make their trip comfortable.
- In order to help soothe your pet, keep their favorite toys and blankets with them.
- Carry your pet’s ID.
- Avoid giving your pets sedatives or tranquilizers prior to the flight journey.
- Make sure to notify the flight crew if your pet is traveling in the cargo hold so they can arrange for a flight attendant to accompany them.
